The apartment is located in Surfers' Paradise on the Gold Coast and there are several theme parks and touristy attractions around. We weren't interested in any of those. Consequently, we don't have many pictures to show but what you will see is that we are having a good time. We didn't see a lot of surf or surfers but maybe that's because we're in Central Surfers' Paradise. There's a north and a south so perhaps the surfers are more plentiful there.
This was the view from the balcony of the apartment the first night. The picture doesn't really do it justice but hopefully, you get the picture.....pardon the pun!
This is the view during the day....an that view is available from both bedrooms and the living room. The balcony runs the full length (or width depending on how you look at it) of the apartment.
There are lots of restaurants to choose from and birds here are not shy about the choices they make either. The Aussies take them in stride and are nonplussed about them.
This is a view from Cavil St where a good portion of the street is closed off to traffic and pedestrians have their choice of restaurants and stores. It's called Cavil Mall.
The building in front is where we are staying and the name of building is the Peninsula - barely visible at the top.
It looked like it was really going to storm one evening but although we got lots of lightening, there wasn't a whole lot of rain.
When the cold water first hits you!
We were taking pictures of each other when a couple came along and offered to take pictures of us together. They told us to 'act up' then the wife gave us her scarf and motioned for us to really ham it up.
And so we end our 5-week jaunt around the world on this playful note. We had a great time on this trip of a lifetime and are happy that we could share some of it with you. We'll see you back at home!
